Daily Schedule
As an Innovation School, Muñiz Academy crafts the schedule to meet learning needs and interests for students and faculty!
The school day for students is from 9 to 4:15, Monday to Thursday. The length of school day for all staff is 6 hours and 45 minutes, Monday to Thursday, with selected staff on a staggered schedule to ensure an extended-day for students.
The Friday schedule for staff is a 6 hours and 20 minute day. Students have early release at 12:30 pm on Fridays and faculty will participate in a two hour block of professional development and leadership activities from 1pm to 3:10pm.
Incoming 9th grade students have approximately 15 additional days in the school year using this schedule model; all other students have approximately 9 additional days of learning time.
In order to support the professional and personal growth of our staff, Muñiz Academy will invest heavily in both professional development opportunities and quality of life initiatives. As is the case with students, educators at Margarita Muñiz Academy will view themselves as learners who are focused on learning as they teach.
Professional development will be both intensive and ongoing, occurring over designated full and half days. In addition to the weekly half-day professional development blocks every Friday afternoon, faculty will have full-day opportunities for learning and collaboration throughout the year.
