As an Innovation School, Muñiz Academy crafts the schedule to meet learning needs and interests for students and faculty!
The school day for students is from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Thursday. Selected staff are on a staggered schedule to ensure an extended-day for students. Students have early release at 12:30 pm on Fridays and faculty will participate in a two hour block of professional development and leadership activities from 1pm to 3:10pm.
Incoming 9th grade students have 10 additional days in the school year using this schedule model; all other students have approximately 9 additional days of learning time.
In order to support the professional and personal growth of our staff, Muñiz Academy will invest heavily in both professional development opportunities and quality of life initiatives. As is the case with students, educators at Margarita Muñiz Academy will view themselves as learners who are focused on learning as they teach.
Professional development will be both intensive and ongoing, occurring over designated full and half days. In addition to the weekly half-day professional development blocks every Friday afternoon, faculty will have full-day opportunities for learning and collaboration throughout the year.
