In fall 2024, Margarita Muñiz Academy launched its Early College program in partnershipwith the University of Massachusetts - Boston. Muñiz Academy students can sign up to participate in Early College in 9th grade. The students who sign up and are selected for the program take a series of FREE college classes from 10th through 12th grade in subjects like literature,science, math, history, writing, and more. By the time Early College students graduatehigh school, they will earn up to 27 college credits--roughly equivalent to one year of college! These credits will transfer to UMass Boston and most other universities in the country,saving students time and money. In addition to the college credits, students gain the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to succeed in college.
Early College is highly accessible to all students: classes are taught in both English and Spanish, intensive academic and personal support is provided to students, and again--these college classes are completely free!
